Hi, I am Sally Peters Pet Portrait Artist.
Born in 1957 in Berkshire, I inherited my ability to paint from my mother. Apart from notional lessons at school I did not pick up a paint brush again until my mid forties when I re-discovered the joy that I derive from painting, particularly animals. I have no formal art training and therefore to all intents and purposes am self taught.
I work mainly in watercolours and I love the challenge of capturing my subject’s personality on paper. I especially love painting animals eyes.
I now live in Worcestershire with my husband and menagerie of animals including my black Labrador and manic spaniel.
I have a studio within the house which overlooks the water meadows of the river Severn which I find a perfect setting for inspiration.
